This text, which is possibly President Lech
Kaczyński’s last press statement, was written as an opening piece for a special
Tygodnik Powszechnysupplement marking the 70th anniversary of the Katyń massacre.
“ It is only now that we fully comprehend the extent of the losses Poland
suffered”, he wrote.
